The small ports and marinas of the Adriatic are facing a complex situation, due to the presence of a greater supply than demand and the increase in the average age of users. Intensifying competitiveness is therefore a priority for these realities, both in Italy and Croatia, which will be able to profit from new business models, measures and actions aimed at a general improvement of their efficiency.

Nodes Enhancing Waterway BRidging Adriatic-Ionian Network PLUS

NEWBRAIN PLUS is the follow up project proposal of NEWBRAIN (COD 504) and it aims at increasing the awareness among the European, National and Macro-regional stakeholders in the field of logistics and transport about the importance of the role of Motorways of the Sea in the Adriatic-Ionian region and their connection to land transport infrastructures for the freight transport flows between the two shores of the Adriatic-Ionian Sea.

MED OSMoSIS

Mediterranean governance for Strategic Maritime SurveIllance and Safety issues

The overall aim of the project is to improve the governance of maritime surveillance, sharing information among the different actors working on this issue. The project involves the development of modules and applications, and the facilitation of information exchange. It will also explore avenues for making further progress on the operation of the Common Information Sharing Environment (CISE).

The SHIPMENTT project aims at establishing an innovation ecosystem focused on the green sea mobility sector (reffered partially as green shipping in EUSAIR) across the ADRION area. In the medium-term, the aim is to enhance the investments in regional R&D and increase the competitiveness of the local SMEs.

MultiAPPRO

MULTIdisciplinary APPROach and solutions to development of intermodal transport in region PLUS

The MultiAPPRO combines different approaches to reach most of the goals highlighted by the EC. Therefore, overall objective of the project is development of intermodal transport in Adriatic-Ionian region. The first approach is focused on systematic collection and providing solutions to all bottlenecks, both on national or regional level. Since White Paper (COM(2011) 144 final) of EC identifies promotion as one of the priority activities in transport development, the next approach innovatively and systematically performs promotion of the intermodal transport in the region and also creates a network of promotional centers. Furthermore, to assure high quality service, project will design specific port quality measures indicators.

ICARUS

Intermodal Connections in Adriatic-Ionian Region to Upgrowth Seamless solutions for passenger

The ICARUS aims at improving passenger intermodal transport connections and easing coast-hinterland sustainable accessibility, promoting car-independent lifestyles. The project fights against problems generated by the massive use of private cars by introducing solutions based on innovative technologies to adapt smart mobility in a digital world. Moreover, it intends to activate a behavioral change in mobility, using the “Mobility as a Service” which is a concept representing the shift from personally owned modes of transportation towards mobility solutions that are consumed as a service.

STEP-UP

Sustainable Transport E-Planner to Upgrade the IT-HR mobility

The STEP-UP project is capitalizing the results of INTERMODAL and will use the information technologies and applications to foster the multimodal passenger mobility and will identify best practices to reduce common technical and organizational problems. The project foresees 6 pilot activities that will test the implementation of the new services promoted into the mobility platform for a benefit of both - citizens and tourists - in terms of easier travel planning concerning urban, interurban and cross-border level.

Optimisation of Public Transport Policies for Green Mobility

Accross Europe transport accounts for about 20 per cent of all greenhouse gas emissions. Nearly half of them are related to passenger transport. To reduce the carbon footprint of mobility, public transport especially in rural and suburban areashas to be strengthened and bottlenecks in public transport networks have to be reduced. Currently a number of remarkable new trends and developments characterize the transport marked. For the public transport system, this creates unique opportunities for a change in the choice of transport and to strengthen its marked position.

The LOCATIONS overall objective is to support local public administrations in drafting Low-Carbon Transport and mobility Plans (LCTPs) with measures dedicated to cruise-related passengers and freight flows, contributing to decongest the city traffic and to lower the production of greenhouse gases.

The REMEDIO addresses the challenge of the high-density areas surrounding the city centres with commercial and directional roads often suffering from traffic jam to the point of becoming wounds in the connectivity of the wide spread city and elements of additional economic crisis and even social exclusion.
